How to Left Hand Drag Bunt...

  • Left Hand Drag Bunt is similar to Drag Bunting. The intent is for right handed batter's to be able to switch positions and bunt from the left hand batter's box. By switching batter's box, it throws the fielder's off and helps direct the ball to the right side of the field.

  • If you are right handed, this may tend to be difficult at first. Just continue to practice and it will come to you but only with hard work.

  • You, the batter, will also act as if you will smack the ball hard,(similar to the previos bunting tip, see how to drag bunt) but you will go deep in the box.

  • As the pitcher delivers, the batter will again bring her right foot back near her left foot, then cross her left foot in front of the right, then step forward with the right foot. (This is the same as drag bunting, but the opposite feet position.

  • All steps will be directly at the pitcher.

  • You will keep your right hand near the knob of the bat, and will bring your left hand up to the barrel of the bat just like you would normally sacrifice bunt.

  • When the ball is contacted, you will then break for first.

  • Remember to hold the bat with 2 hands and run toward the pitcher. If you hold the bat with only one hand it may causeyou to lose so much control of the ball and running toward first causes you to pull the bat away from the ball.
