If you want to become a successful softball player that can lay down a perfect bunt

during a game, there are some key items you need to have before starting

to learn how to bunt. First, you must realize that bunting is a hard skill to learn

and many players have not perfected it. It takes time and years of practice. So get the items

below, set aside a set amount of time each week to practice, and just be patient.

Item # 1

bat

A girl's softball bat

A bat that is appropiate weight and size for yourself. Also make sure it is a bat

certified by the Natioanl Softball Leage (NSA). They are available at sporting

good stores. If you do not want to spend a large amount of money try checking out

a store such as Target.

Item # 2

gloves

Batting Gloves

You may not find batting gloves necessary while playing softball.

However, I highly recommend them especially while learning to bunt.

You fingers may get hit by the softball coming at the bat, so batting

gloves are a good idea to protect your fingers as well as give you a better

grip on the bat which is key.

Item # 3

Plenty of Softballs

A large bucket of softballs is idea in order to keep

the practice flowing.

Item # 4

A home plate is need to help you with your stance. One of the important

things to keep in mind is that you may not step on the plate or out

of the batter's box. Therefore, it is key to practice bunting with a

plate. It does not have to be a real plate, just find an item

that is similar to the size of a regulated home plate.

These are the key items needed for practicing to bunt. Next, let's move on the steps of

bunting...
