2.1.2.2

Copy, description and rationale for learner assessment strategies:

While implementing the instructional systems design program, I will give the students various assessments during the program to determine if they have mastered all of the tasks.  For each of the evaluations there will be a question related to the objective.  I will plan on using a mastery teaching style for this project.  I plan on using this technique because the students need to be proficient in writing conclusions.  I plan on implementing five assessments at various places of the program to ensure that all students have mastered each step before they move on.  The assessments will occur:

  1. After getting the paper set up for writing the conclusion.
  2. After restating the conclusion and interpreting the data
  3. After analyzing the hypothesis using data from the lab (is it right or wrong?)
  4. After explaining the science concept learned.
  5. After editing the conclusion and publishing to the portfolio.

If individual students have problems with a specific section of the assessment, they can re-trace their steps to fully understand that objective.  Those that have mastered the technique can move forward in the instructional system design program.  Students will continue working on their conclusions until they have mastered each section of the ISD.
