Copy, description and rationale for learner assessment and feedback strategies

 

Authentic Practice:

 

Since the laboratory process in the middle school science classroom occurs every week, the students in the science classroom will have authentic practice during each lab they are required to complete.  They will typically complete two to three labs each week and will let them practice the conclusion writing technique during each of the labs.

 

Feedback:

 

During the conclusion writing process the students will have their laboratory partners edit their conclusions.  The teacher will also monitor the writing process during the lab and give appropriate and timely feedback to as many students as possible.  A good technique to use would be for each student to show the instructor their conclusion before the end of each class.
